Mindy is a devoted Advocate for Children with Special Needs. She was there every step of the way as I needed her help with my son's IEP. She is wonderful, caring and a dedicated person with such expertise in Special Education. She helped me accomplish the goals I wanted for my son's education. My sons having to experience divorce has been stressful to say the least and continually challenging for them, emotionally as well as psychologically.
With the help of their therapist, Mindy Schneider my sons have worked through the painful stages of grief and have come a long way in learning to identify their feelings and most importantly how to process and express them appropriately. It's an ongoing joint effort, between my boys, Mindy and me in establishing a "new normal" in our life situation. Mindy is my son's second therapist, the first was a traditional PhD who we would go meet at her office, Mindy's approach is completely different and I've seen my sons make strides in trusting and therefore communicating with Mindy much more than with a traditional "sofa/kids play room" therapist.
Mindy is dedicated, thoughtful and provides my son's with constructive knowledge as well as emotional and psychological support. With a traditional therapist, the child is forced out of their space, their comfort zone, with Mindy, she immerses herself in their space and becomes a part of their comfort zone -- this is essentially priceless.
My eldest son is extremely intelligent and not very trusting but with Mindy he bonded quickly and I believe it's because she came to our home and became a part of their life sphere, per se, that has made all the difference in the world.
Also and possibly most importantly, Mindy is not on a stop clock, she doesn't rush when her time is up and actually spends ample time with my sons -- they and myself never feel rushed.

My family and I met Mindy in March 2011. Ever since we met her, she has been a breath of fresh air. Our Son, Nickolas, struggles with High Functioning Autism, and is currently mainstreamed in the 4th grade general ed. classroom. We had been going through some bullying issues last school year, and our son, Nickolas was also struggling academically and socially at school. At this point we decided to hire an advocate to help us get Nickolas' needs met and followed through. Mindy is very easy to talk to, she is always available, she is very comforting and knowledgeable. She helped us through a very difficult situation, which I knew I could not handle alone.
Mindy is also very compassionate and empathetic towards families with struggling children due to disabilities. During our IEP meeting, Mindy was very supportive. She came prepared and well organized. Mindy took a very calm, cool & collected, non aggressive approach with the School IEP team. Which was very appreciated from the district staff, because it made the environment much more relaxed, and it was easy to communicate all of our concerns. The school staff also were much more willing to comply and work with us, due to Mindy's professional, polite, and non aggressive mannerism. In the end, We were ALL on the same page, and Nickolas is being put first, and his needs and goals are all being implemented and followed through. Finding Mindy was a huge positive in our daughter’s special education. We needed support and guidance to prepare for an important IEP meeting, one that could truly benefit our daughter’s life at school and her future. As soon as Mindy came into our lives, the momentum of things changed! She dedicated herself to quickly assessing our situation (which wasn’t easy, 8 years of catch up!).
